Yeah For Camping!

This here is a little photo progression of a recent overnight camping trip Boo, Shelby and I took out to the Nehalem river. We found a nice little spot and made camp. Then we walked down to the river and found that it was perfect for swimming. We all got naked and went right in instead of going back to camp for our suits. While we were swimming we saw some pretty good sized crawdads and it reminded me of a time when my grandpa and I caught them with a little bit of bacon on the end of a string. As we sat around the fire that night drinking Mad Dog 20/20 and Hamms I suggested that we fashion some rigs and catch some crawdads in the morning. So the next morning as we sat around the table and drank our coffee from salvaged beer cans (we forgot cups) we all started to make our own types of crawdading apparatus. Mine was made out of strips of plastic bags tied in knots with a sewing pin for a hook, Boo's was made of little bits of string she pulled from her clothes and a wooden prong hook with a barb and Shelby opted for a simple milk jug with holes cut in the bottom and an open top. We ended up catching quite a few and we all enjoyed the challenge of trying to catch these wily little guys. We decided that if we were gonna go through the trouble of catching them that we should take them home and eat them. So that's just what we did. They cooked up really easily and to my surprise they were actually pretty tasty. They tasted pretty bland but a little lemon and garlic butter did the trick nicely. Anyway a good time was had by all and nobody got sick or nothing. Yeah for camping!
